About
Artistic periods are very important but may attract different audience and interests. The same is with artists/painters and their artworks. Some of them are more popular, some are less. It depends possibly on period, as well artists’ exhibitions and the popularity of their art around the world.
In this project you will find information about artists and their work during Renaissance. The aim of this project is to analyse the statistics of Renaissance period artists and the find the correlation between the gathered data. This includes the countries with most renaissance artists and people who were most active in that period. Also I am gonna analyse distribution of these artist profession.
Datasets utilized:
The Web Gallery of Art is a virtual museum and searchable database of European fine arts, decorative arts and architecture (3rd-19th centuries), currently containing over 52,800 reproductions. Artist biographies, commentaries, guided tours, period music, catalogue, free postcard and mobile services are provided.

From the begining
The Renaissance originated in Italy, Florence during the 14th century and gradually spread across Europe.
The Renaissance was characterized by a revival of classical art and literature, a shift towards humanism, and advancements in science and technology.
From Italy, the Renaissance ideals and artistic innovations gradually spread to other European regions, contributing to the Northern Renaissance and shaping the cultural landscape of the entire continent.
The invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century played a huge role, allowing distribution of books and knowledge.
There are about 11584 recorded artworks across Renaissance period.

Research Projects
Renaissance period is divided into three key phases: the Early Renaissance, the Northern Renaissance, and the High Renaissance. Each of the phases is unique in it's own way.
